the Liang Kuang which will prevent an infraction of an

engagement duly entered inte on behalf of the Chinese

daverriment.

I further suggest that the in-

-formation contained in the newspaper articles with rogard

to the Whampoa line be communicated to Fr.

J. O. P. Fland

who is now in Paking, in connection with the conclusion of

the negotiations for the Chinese section of the Kowloon

Railway.
